Andrew Brand, Head of Operational Risk,
CLOSE BROTHERS
Andrew has many years of hands-on risk
management experience. He spent eight years at a major investment management firm where, as Enterprise Risk Manager, he was responsible for both internal and external risk reporting.
He was also responsible for Basel Pillar II implementation, leading the team that designed and implemented the firm’s regulatory risk framework. Previous to this, Andrew worked for
various organisations in the banking sector including the Bank of New York and the Royal Bank of Scotland.
He holds an economics degree from UCL and an MBA from Cass Business School, and is currently writing a new exam text book on 'Risk in Financial Services'.
